Privacy Policy

Effective from 17 September 2026. It applies to https://invoicemaker.website and to every page on it. There is no account system, so there is no user record to hold and nothing to request a copy of.

Who operates this site

InvoiceMaker is an independent, free resource run by an individual, not a product of a company and not operated on behalf of a client. It is not a registered accounting or legal practice, and nothing here is professional advice. The contact address for anything on this page is support@invoicemaker.website, and the same address reaches the person responsible for the site.

The short version

The invoices and figures you enter never reach us. Every calculation and the PDF generation happen inside your browser, and drafts are saved to your own browser's local storage. We do not operate a login, a database of user records, or a server endpoint that receives your form data. The only third parties involved are Vercel, which hosts the site and receives standard request logs plus anonymous page-performance metrics, and Google, which collects information through the advertising described below.

Information stored in your browser

Each tool writes its current state to window.localStorage under a key beginning with invoicemaker:v1:. For the invoice generator this includes everything you typed and, if you uploaded one, your logo encoded as a base64 string. This data stays on the device, is readable only by this site in this browser, and is removed when you press “Clear draft”, or when you clear site data through your browser settings. Because storage is per-browser and per-device, a draft started on a phone will not appear on a laptop.

Local storage is not a cookie, is not sent to us, and cannot be used to follow you between sites. It is worth knowing the difference, because the word “cookie” tends to cover all three in people's minds.

Advertising and cookies

This site is supported by advertising served through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting aboutads.info, and you can read how Google handles data at How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Ad requests are made only for the fixed-size slots you can see on the page, and only once the page has become interactive. The advertising script is never involved in a calculation. If you block it with an extension, every tool continues to work exactly as before: the reserved space simply stays empty.

Legal basis, and visitors in the UK and EEA

The hosting and request-log processing described above is done to operate and secure a free public website, which is our legitimate interest. The advertising described in this section is a separate matter: in the UK and EEA, cookies and similar storage used for personalised advertising require consent, and there are legal bases and exemptions that do not generalise across every country.

We do not want to overstate what this site does. There is no consent management platform wired up here, and the advertising script is not gated behind a consent prompt. If you are in a jurisdiction where that requires consent before non-essential advertising storage is set, the reliable way to prevent it is to block the ad script: every tool works exactly the same without it, and the reserved space simply stays empty. The opt-out links above work too, and blocking is the more complete answer of the two.

If a consent platform is added in future, this section will be rewritten before it goes live rather than after, and the change in behaviour will be reflected in the effective date at the top of the page.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes standard request metadata such as IP address, user agent, referring page and requested URL in order to deliver the page and protect the service against abuse. Those logs are Vercel's, are not enriched with anything you typed into a form, and are not used by us for analytics or profiling.

The site also runs Vercel Speed Insights, which reports anonymous page-performance metrics such as load time and layout shift. That telemetry does not include the figures you enter or the contents of an invoice.

Children's privacy

These are business tools and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone using the site as a minor, and we do not knowingly collect it from children through advertising. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this site, write to support@invoicemaker.website and it will be dealt with.

One honest caveat about the advertising: the networks that fill these slots decide their own audiences, and that decision is made in systems we do not see or control. We cannot promise that no advert is ever served to a minor. If you are supervising a child’s use of the internet, blocking the ad script is the way to remove the question entirely.

Your choices

• Delete everything this site has stored by pressing “Clear draft” on the invoice generator, or by clearing site data for this domain in your browser settings.
• Use the site in a private or incognito window if you would prefer nothing to persist after you close the tab.
• Opt out of personalised ads using the Google and aboutads.info links above, or block the ad script entirely — the tools do not depend on it.

Changes to this policy

If the way this site handles data changes — for example if a different ad network or an additional analytics tool is added — this page will be updated and the effective date at the top will change with it. Because the effective date is stated on the page rather than implied by a revision date, you can always see which version you are reading.
